Staci Redmon, President and CEO of Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS), was a panelist at the STEM+ Women Conference held at George Mason University’s Fairfax Campus on March 25, 2014. The theme of the conference was “Empowering Women to Innovate and Lead in STEM+ Education and Careers”. The STEM+ Women Conference offers young women in high school and college the opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and related fields, with a special focus on the skills necessary for navigating a global workforce.
Ms. Redmon participated on the STEM+ Culture panel, which focused on sociocultural issues that may discourage young women from entry into STEM fields, including the representation of women and gender in digital media and in online communities.
STEM+ Women is a partnership of the George Mason University Game Design Program and Simulation and Game Institute (SGI), and Women in Technology (WIT) Education Foundation.
